Even a quick trip to the store puts your vehicle at risk for car theft. Follow these tips to help keep your property safe!
#1. Always lock your doors and take your keys with you. Many people think that when they run into the gas station to pay for their gas that it will be fine to leave their car unlock and unattended. The truth is, a few seconds is all it takes for someone to access your car. Even if you think it is going to be a quick trip, or if you think you’ll be able to see your car the whole time, lock it and bring the keys!
#2. Hide valuables. A purse or an expensive or desirable item in your car may entice a thief to break in. Keep these belongings out of sight. Preferably you won’t keep these in your vehicle, but if you have to, in the trunk may be the best spot!
#3. Park smart. Park in well-lit parking areas near other vehicles. Vehicles in dark parking spaces allow for more cover for the thief.
Lastly, be sure that your car is covered for theft. Check with your Miller-Schuring Agent today for more details!
