The rain has arrived and is combating our drought-like conditions. We can finally enjoy the summer festivities of campfires and smores! Graham cracker, marshmallow, chocolate, repeat… right? If you are feeling adventurous, try these twists on the traditional treat!
Replace the marshmallow: Peep smores. Still have Peeps in your cupboard from Easter? If they haven’t been opened they are probably still fresh. Roast a Peep instead of a marshmallow. This is fun for the kids as they can add color to their favorite treat!
Replace the chocolate: Reeses smores. Instead of a sliver of chocolate, add a Reeses peanut butter cup to your store for some peanut butter deliciousness.
Replace the graham cracker: Cinnamon smores. Use another variety of graham cracker – like cinnamon or chocolate – instead of the plain cracker.
How do you know when it is safe to leave that campfire and head in for the night? If the coals are too hot to touch, they are too hot to leave unattended. For more information about fire coverage, give your Miller-Schuring Agency a call!
